Script development

Other than project “Film Tottenham”, the past 3 months have been dedicated to writing over 70 pages of story for a second feature film script. I’m on chapter 2 of 3 and fairly excited for the finale (being excited about your film is a good sign!). Without a definitive spoiler alert, it is a story of redemption with a backdrop of being in the afterlife (purgatory to be precise). There is a story to be told in itself of the writing process whilst juggling a full time job, film festival and house renovation. When time becomes incredibly small, it becomes more valuable. I use any valuable time to write my films and still do this at Picturehouse Central. I was taking a break and there just so happened to be a film festival in the cinema. I got talking to a Producer and his well known critic friend. “Isn’t it too loud here to write?” said the Producer. Maybe I should have been sat alone in a room in my building site house but I haven’t tried it and it wouldn’t excite me. I’ve felt more productive being around people when writing, not because I want to latch onto conversations, but because of the energy…and potentially the £1 pots of tea on a Monday in the member’s cafe.
